Hi all,
I'm a relatively new member of Audible.com, but have been browsing the site on and off for years. Back about three years ago if you wanted to hear a sound sample from an audiobook before buying it there was a nice, handy link right there under the title of the book that said Hear a Sample. With the new site, however, that link seems to have been removed. There is a bit of text that says Sample of audiobook but it doesn't appear to be clickable. I use Window-Eyes and Mozilla Firefox, but I have tried it with JFW and IE and it still doesn't work. So I'm wondering if it's even possible to preview books anymore. Any help with this would be appreciated.
I know for a fact that there are still audio samples of books on the site, as i have heard them all the time on a few podcast i listen to that they advertise on, also I have browsed the the site myself about 6 or somonths back when i was considering signing up and played them. It would kind of work against a what i would imagine is a considerable part of their members if they made theire audio samples in accessable with a screen reader.
Exactly my point. I just haven't been able to figure out how you play them now. I kinda like to hear a narrator before i buy something he or she has read. It used to be easy but not anymore apparently, or I'm just missing something.
With Jfw, you can rout jaws to pc, and left click the sample audio and it will begin playing. If this doesn't work you can also, turn off vertual currsor INS z, and usually it will then appear as a link. Not sure how you'd do this with WE.
Sorry
Well I am subscribed to GW Micro's info list so I may check there. Surely there are audible listeners there who'll be able to shed some light on this.
